The Chinese make some nice copies of expensive knifes.
Striders, Hinderers, Pohl Force, Carrillos, Chris Reeve, Crusader Forge,
etc. In some cases, they are better, dollar for dollar.
The Chinese Hinderer pictured is half the price of a ZT 0560 (1/4 the cost of a XM18) and a better knife, and I've owned a 0560. The Strider copies are higher quality than the original too. Food for thought...

I have serious doubts about that claim and I for one would never own a knock off. Just not my style. To each their own.

I appreciate your opinion. Unlike other forums, we can state
facts here, and not be a bought and paid for advertisement
for the big wigs in the knife industry. I will never spend a
week's pay for an inferior knife when I can get one at 20%
of the cost and better workmanship...

I can understand where you are coming from about the week's pay and all, But I think if I wanted a high quality knife for not a lot of money I'd get one that wasn't a complete counterfeit of someone else's work. There are a lot of quality knives in the $100-$200 range. I think it really sucks that there are fakes like this on the market. If buying used you have to really watch out for these things. The Chinese are pretty good at copying CRKs as well. I understand that they are well made knives, but why cant they just come up with their own design. These knives are made to dupe people.
Hinderer's do go for insanely high (see inflated) prices and probably aren't worth it dollar for dollar, but people buy them for pride of ownership. I also believe that if you are LE/Fire/EMS/MIL you can buy them from Rick at MSRP(~$400). I'd be willing to bet that 9/10 of Hinderer owners don't use their knives at all because they want the to hold their value. I'd like to have one some day but believe me when I get one I will use the snot out of it.

Seems counterfeiting is affecting EKI enough to post about it.

Yeah people are buying counterfeits and then sending them in for warranty work because they suck, only to have Emerson Tell them that the reason they suck is because they are fake.

Got my 0560! I'm going to put a few spyderco's back in their boxes and sell the rest. This knife is amazing.

LKS called today and said they had a few ZT 561s in stock. My only other ZT is a 350 and I really like it, so I decided to take the plunge. They received 16 units yesterday and there was one left after I bought mine - they flew off the shelf.

Scored one from House of Blades. They are one of the few places selling for MAP ($260). That even included shipping from Texas to South Carolina. Great place to deal with. After I sent payment I got a tracking number within 3 hours. Too bad I have to go to that DAMN place called work and I got my payment in too late for it to be shipped today..LOL

There are more and more making it to market so the crazy pricing should soon die down.

I have to ask, how long did that edge take you on the EP? I spent two hours with a coarse DMT and didn't even get down to the factory edge at the tip. The rest of the knife is 30 degrees but the tip still has a lot of metal left to remove.

Did you freehand that blade or use a fixed system like a wicked edge?
