Sort by State?
How about a "sort by State" for those that are only interested in viewing/purchasing within their State of residence.

Is it possible to have the zip code field be a cookie? That way once I enter it, it would auto-populate the distance and City on each visit. I know...not a big deal but is would nice.

I like it. Thank you - it was much harder to find NC-specific ads prior to this, and I look forward to when you make zip codes mandatory as well. Very user friendly for someone who doesn't want to have to deal with an FFL/prefers FTF.

Please bring back ad bumping, perhaps on a timer where you can bump once every 24 hours.
Also, what happened to the "Misc. Gun Stuff" category?

I'd suggest an option to show/hide the thumbnail images when you first enter a Want-Ads sub-forum.
I poked around the preferences but didn't see a way to do this. If I'm just dumb and missed it, please disregard (but please show me where to set this)

Suggestion....get rid of the statistics info, no justifiable need to advertyise $$$ of items sold imho, doubt that it brings you any mores potential sales, if that's your intent.Reason I say this is it may have unintended consequesnces and just may bring us unwanted scrutiny from the IRS. Especially, since the States are starting to implement ( or have already done so) tax laws for purposes of collecting online sales tax. Rhetorical question...would you hand over you sales records from the new system?
Just my 2¢!

How about having a 'recently purchased' tab to make it easier to find ads to leave feed back.

I would love to see a sort by state or sort by distance.
I would think the sort by distance should be easy if zip code were mandatory.
Just making ZIP CODE and STATE mandatory would help my searching immensely. I prefer to buy in the state if possible, and if i know something is close, that might give me the motivation to go buy it.

How about a "Log In" link from inside the new classifieds?
I usually bookmark my ad so I can easily find it later, but in order to edit it I have to go back to the main page just to log in.

I'll give another vote to the sort by state function being added.

Any update on the search by state?
This new system is so much of a pain in the ass to use that I've all but given up on GT.
It's hard to believe that there's actually a worse implementation of an updated classified system than ARFCOM's New system, at least they had the common sense to keep the old system too. C'mon GT, you gotta be losing sponsors from this, how much has traffic dropped?

I would suggest fixing the upload system so I can upload pics. Every pic I try to upload gives me this message:
IMGP0770.JPG (exceeds your PHP maximum upload value.)
I have sold other guns with this new system and uploaded pics from the same location and never had any problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not like the new system at all. I use to check the old system daily and now I don't go into it at all (other than the 2 or 3 times I attempted to make heads or tails of it). I would think this has affected hits on the site dramatically but maybe it is only a few of us. Pretty sure I will never buy or sell on GT again, which eliminates about half of the time I spend on GT.

Any chance of a BASIC sticky showing HOW to leave feedback? I ask as I had to ask the seller how to leave him some after I got the item I bought from him. I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I did manage to get thru 18 years of school with a couple degrees.

The only way I know to leave feedback, which isn't too hard once you've figured it out, is as follows:
Go to the ad you bought the item from. Or any other ad by that seller.
Click on their name in the main header box, right under their avatar.
Scroll down to the feedback box and click.
Leave feedback.
It does not appear to allow any good way for the seller to leave feedback about a buyer though, unless the buyer has a for sale ad somewhere themselves.
Hope this helps.

Sort by zip is really frustrating.
Page 1 = no zip code.
Page 5 = 1000 miles away.
Page 50 = 1000 miles away.
Page 92 = 1000 miles away.
Why pay astronomical shipping charges if I can get the same thing locally or 30 minutes away. I'll be another one to chime in on the sort by state. If you can make it happen it would be fantastic.

After posting an ad the option to delete ad should not be available.
especially after members have posted on the sale item
This has led to shady deals.
If the op chooses not to sell for whatever reason, they can state so in the ad.
of simply state 'withdrawn' in the title

Would be nice to have an "Ammunition and Reloading" section instead of lumping it in with "Holsters and Accessories".

I agree with Freakshow10mm we need a Ammunition and reloading section. Wasn't there one awhile ago, I remember posting and buy from it?
