GP100 halflug 3"
locally and he's asking $500.00 no box, just gun.
I see them sell more in the $400.00 range.
Would $400.00 be a fair offer?

Not in my lifetime. You could easily find a 2-3" S&W .357 for that price. Ruger is not in the same league, contrary to the myths built up by new shooters since most people quit carrying revolvers.

Examples???
As most S&W .357's I've seen are in the $450-500.00 range or more.

The gun he posted is priced $500 and he's going to start by offering $400, so he's still in that price range.
The last 2 S&W revolvers I bought were a model 19 2" for $270 and a 3" 686 CS1 (somewhat collectible) for $500. I see S&W revolvers in gun shops and shows between $400 and $500 every time I go in one.

I just sold a 3" 1/2 lug Gp100 for $400. I was happy to get 400 and buyer was happy to pay it. Fair is fair.

Paying $500 for a used GP100 of any kind is just crazy talk.

SOG has good looking 4" 66's for $379 right now. I'll take a 66 over a GP any day.

Yep. $400 is better.
Unless you really really want it. You might not get the chance again for that 1/2 lug model.

My GP-100 is a ex-Canadian police gun.
I fitted a new hand and bolt and this gun is zero-zero (that is no play at all, no end shake, no crane shake, locks like a vault when cocked.
And yes they are hard to find.

Remember, a 3" GP100 has FIXED sights. I have one and it is NOT regulated correctly, i.e., it shoots off to one side. Someday I'll get it fixed.
Bren, I'll give you $600 for the CS 686. Where do I send the money?

I didn't say I'd sell it for that. It's a pretty good gun that I use as a shooter, but I've seen them listed for sale in excess of $1,000. I bought this one from a local competition shooter.

Agreed...I paid $325 (this includes the tax) for a 4" Stainless GP 100 at a pawn shop on 11/25/2005. The gun was made in 2004 per the Ruger website info on gun serial numbers.
I paid $300 for a 4" blued 357 Service Six that was made in 1980. Bought the gun FTF 3 years ago. Keep your eyes open, Ruger has sold a ton of guns and most are not collectables, but just good shooters.

500 seems high to me also.
