I started with a Dremmel to take the bulk of it down, then pretty much used whatever I could find to finish it with. Used some 60 grit, 600 grit, 2000 grit. Also used a flat file a little. Used some cloth, and #0000 steel wool too.

It's not perfect, but looks Damn near factory. I wish the pics were bigger.

Nice! I love compact Glocks, but hate the finger grooves. I own a 19, 23, and will hopefully be picking up a Gen4 32 tomorrow.

I have 4 Glocks and the first thing I do when I purchase a Glock is to remove the Finger Grooves. I do it very carefully with the Dremel Sanding Tool, then finish it off with sandpaper, then I stipple it with a wood burning tool and thats it! This is basically the first thing I do to every Glock i acquire. The "humps" do not fit my fingers at all, and must go. The top hump crowds my middle finger, and the second hump hits dead square in the middle of my ring finger every time. I just take the angle grinder to it until the front strap is straight like a Gen2. On the large frames (20, 21) I take all the checkering off the front strap, down to smooth plastic, and apply 3M tread tape to the front strap. This reduces te overall size of the grip a little, and the tape gives superior grip.

Shoots great! I put on some Trijicon HD sights, and I love'em! I have them on my Gen 2 17 also.

Someone asked why remove the humps? For some people like myself, depending on your hands, the humps end up under your fingers, or forcing your fingers into a position they don't naturally want to be. Especially if your hands are large...Which is my case.

just did my gen 3 G19, easy to do and you did a good job. i didn't finish it to a factory finish on the groove area since i knew i was going to stipple and it didn't matter. now fits my hand perfect. i took mine off since the crimson trace add a little width and length to the handle, now it is good to go. i'm a 'dremel professional' actually a Foredom i used so i just switched to different grade sanding drums until i got it where i like it and then under cut the trigger guard to chock my grip up a little more.

Thanks alot! I keep thinking about undercutting the trigger guard too. I keep thinking about stippling to, I have done alot in the past on my M&P's and do a pretty good job of it......We'll see

you know the dremel sanding drum is a perfect fit between the handgrip and the trigger guard! it fits right in the curve. all you have to do is turn it on, apply slight pressure and take off as much material as you want, dress it and done. really, it is almost like it was mad to do that job alone. the undercut was the easiest part of taking off the finger grooves and stippling job...5 minutes max, go ahead and do it now why you are thinking about it, really lets you get up there with your fingers.

You guys are a bad influence Lol! Now you got me thinking about rounding the trigger guard. Still thinking about stippling just the front and back.
