Glock Talk Meet-n-Greet in Michigan
Anyone interested in meeting up in Michigan? Perhaps, show off our Glocks at an indoor shooting range?
Maybe we could make it a scheduled thing and meet up to shoot some IDPA in the Spring.

Not sure how that would go. I come into this part of glocktalk once every other month. I know what I need to know about function of a glock.I stay for the people in GNG.
Now, if you want to do a meet up. I suggest doing it through MGO. More local. Unless you message all the locals from here. And there is a few for sure.
Ideas like this are nice. But, very hard to pull off. The hard part is to find a time and a place. Some of us won't go to the FiringLine to shoot for example.
You can put it out there. But, alot of us have to work weekends to make ends meet.
That is just my two cents worth of experiance. I have tried it.

I think it's a great idea, but due to my busy family schedule doubt I would be able to attend. I agree, that you would probably get a better response from the MGO, MCRGO, or the Michigan Open Carry websites.
Off topic, Hailstorm, why is FiringLine so hated? Just curious, never been there or heard of the place.

What about TopGun in Taylor? They have a really nice range with plenty of room. Maybe if you can get an idea of how many people will show up, you could call Top Gun and see if they would reserve one of the halves of the range for the meet and greet. I'm sure they'd do it just as long as you don't do the meet and greet at prime range time. An added bonus would be to schedule it when the Gilbalter Trade Center is having a gun show. Double added bonus is there is are some decent restaurants in the area, Texas Road house would be a good choice for a group lunch.

Who here mentioned the Firing Line? Noone was talking about that place...
At any rate, Oso, why would you take up space here by responding to a post, saying you WON'T go... That makes zero sense. The only people that should be posting here, are people that would actually attend, rather than just makin' up reasons to talk about everything under the sun except the actual thread topic...

Reading is fundamental, shooter1234, try it sometime.
I'm always looking for good, new places to shoot and appreciate it when I hear reviews whether good or bad about ranges and shops.
Oh, and my first post you quoted also had my opinion on the OPs thoughts on a meet up and offered suggestions on forums to post to. That is a lot more than your post offered on the topic.

Ah Ha...I am also am a frequent visitor to the Pit...fitting name
Last week while shooting at the pit, two different guys let me empty a couple of clips through their AK and AR/with the bump stop stock I guess you would call it..that makes it mimic full auto. Mostly very friendly folks at the pit!
Now if I could just shoot my G19 with some consistency

There was a couple meetups 5-6 years ago at the pit. Great time was had by all. I think Ender and I are the only ones that went that still post.

Yea, I missed that outing. I want to make a trip to the pit some day. Tired of the 2 second between each round crap. It was nice having my own range....

Thanks for the info on MGO, I love that place so far. Not as much as GT tho.
They're having a "fun shoot" in Burton, Mi March 25th. MGO will pick up the range cost, just bring your gun and ammo. It's at Advanced Range and is very informal and laid back.

Hey guys,
I had a conversation with a armorer at Double Action and he mentioned the Pit. Isn't it an outdoor range?

Yes it is outdoors...no supervision and it is a old gravel pit. It's not glamorous with shot up everything blown apart lying over the shooting ground area. I emptied a full clip on a intact tv a few weeks ago...liberating.....always wanted to do that...

I'll be at Top Gun in Taylor, Mi today. One of the last indoor USPSA matches before the outdoor season starts. Also, I'm not sure of the range yet, but in Brooklyn, Mi on April 1st there will be another one.

That sounds like fun. I might have to make my way out there someday this spring.
