I worked in KY for a County EMS service that covered the KY Speedway. I met a lot of famous drivers and celeberties there, some were just plain down to earth folks and others were pricks.

No real snobs ,just used to a different lifestyle. They all had a hand shake or a hug to give.

One of my fellow co-workers worked the private sector(ambulance) before he was hired with us and he was the unit dispatched to Anna Nicole Smith's death. He said cameras were everywhere so they had to be extra careful not to F-up. lol

In working at a racetrack, I have had many interactions with drivers, music stars, ect. Rusty Wallace is a very down to earth normal guy. IndyCar drivers, there's maybe one or 2 that have let the fame get to them. Ashley Judd is another good one to meet. All in all, there's only been 1 or 2 that haven't been personable. All of the stars I have met have always been down to earth people.

Brad Paisleys dad is a volunteer for a dept in the town right above where I'm from. When I lived back there I remember an accident I was at and was talking to him... lol a huge sign in the background said "home of brad paisley" *the accident was right on the border of the city limits* But I kept thinking he was really familiar looking. As I was walking away the light bulb lit up!

Gregory Harrison in Honolulu while waiting for our plane in 1990 or 91. We talked for a couple of minutes. He was a credit to his profession, a very well mannered gentleman. He asked what I was there for, I said I was in the Air Force stationed there, and we just talked a little.

I'm sorry but that would be a HIPPA violation for me to talk about it.

J/K. I've dealt with a few and it's only been a few since I work in Waco but I just pretend I don't recognize them and treat them like anyone else.

I met Bronson Pinchot at his home one time. He is a very gracious host. I was doing some repair work at a house just across the street from his home. There was a crew rebuilding the low stone wall along the front of his place, and I crossed the road to chat with them about the wall. Mr Pinchot came out to offer the wall crew some coffee, and asked each of them how they would like it. He asked me too. I said that I wasn't part of his work crew, that I was working across the street. He said that's ok, how do you like your coffee. Mr. Pinchot personally served everyone there, their coffee.

Mr. Pinchot had a problem with the local volunteer fire company. The fire hall was close to Mr. Pinchot's home, and late night/early morning fire calls would interrupt his sleep. So, Mr. Pinchot made the fire company an offer they didn't refuse. He offered to build a new fire hall at HIS expense about 1/2 mile away. It is a very well appointed fire hall.

I chatted with Richard Petty when I was a high-schooler at a drag strip near here. He was having a Pepsi, and relaxing in the shade. Just regular folk, that Richard.

Did he ask if you would like a lemon twist?

I once drove a limo and provided security for Percy Sledge. His contract required a lot of Crown Royal and Corona. He filled the bathtub with ice and stayed up all night drinking with any fan that wanted to stop by, signing autographs and singing songs for them.

Ran into R. Lee Ermey (OK, stood in line for an autograph) at the NRA convention a couple of years ago. He was signing autographs, calling people's relatives on their cell phones and doing anything the fans wanted. The guys from Glock said he didn't even take a lunch break - just stayed at it, with a line stretching all the way around Glock's area. When I told him I was an Army drill sergeant, he got one of his Ermey/Glock coins out of a drawer and passed it to me in a handshake, military style. Nicest celebrity I could imagine.

I once helped out Thomas Thorn (founding member of Electric Hellfire Club and keyboard player from My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult) in a minor fight, in Cincinnati, and him and the lead singer of Coal Chamber bought me a drink or two and hung out some.

Went to Poppy Z. Brite's house once, in New Orleans, with a magazine interviewer. She was very nice.

Ran into Julie Goloski/Golob and Dave Sevigney at my first GSSF match - she was taking applications at the sign-up table and he was giving some shooting lessons - both were very nice to everybody.

Massad Ayoob is pretty famous, as Glock Talk members and gun writers go - he bought me and my wife lunch in Louisville a few months back.

I don't recall meeting any celebrities who are jerks, but there aren't many celebrities I'd want to meet, so I probably just wouldn't pay any attention to those (or know who they are).

Sushi place I work at seems to be a hotspot for Texans players and Rockets players. I've encountered Rudy Tomjonavich's son once, Jeff Van Gundy on multiple occasions, Arian Foster once, Andre Johnson a few times (a different girl every time), and a few other players. They've all been nice, with JVG being the most humble guy and Arian Foster tipping the best.

Former President Bush Sr. - one of the nicest men I've ever met. Friendly, outgoing and considerate. His wife is a very sweet lady.

Former Pres. Clinton - away from the public an easy-going friendly guy. Had to spend a day with his wife (when he was in office). She visited Sarajevo, and I was stuck with her for most of a day. She was actually very funny, good sense of humor and not hard to deal with. State Dept. security say she's a real ***** to work for these days.

President Ronald Reagan - a personal hero, who acted the way you'd expect your hero to act. His wife was a very proper, attentive and sweet lady.

President GWB - polite, but a bit standoffish. His wife is a very nice lady.
VP Cheney - great guy to talk to.

Obama - passed on the opportunity to brief him. No interest in meeting the man.

Walking the beach in Maine with a friend, met a nice elderly couple, the woman showed us shells she'd collected for the grandkids to paint when they came up from Florida. After going our way my friend was aghast that I didn't recognize ex-president George H W Bush (41). She pointed out secret service guards at a reasonable distance.

Just as well, I probably woulda told him what a jerk I thought his kid George Jr (43) was. They were nice folks, personable, unpretentious.

The late Brad Delp, singer for "Boston" grew up down the street from me, was a year ahead in high school, we worked and played together after high school until Boston's first album came out. Really nice, mellow, kind, funny guy.
