The dumbest thing I've ever heard was somebody didn't want to get too big. I've heard that a million times!! People act like they're going to turn into jay cutler.

I cannot agree. When you read people saying muscle weighs more than fat it is usually used in the context of dieting while starting to weight train. People say the scale will fool you because muscle weighs more than fat. Almost implying that people will replace equal volumes of fat with muscle resulting in weight gain while in calorie deficit. It just doesn't make sense.

Really, why the resistance to the word dense?

Outside of me, the S&C regulars think you are an arse hole. But even they should be able to admit that is funny.

Doing 25 pound dumbbell presses while sitting on a beach ball and onelegged bodyweight squats do more for your core than squats, deadlifts and cleans.

Lately I've had people trying to convince me that I should ditch the conventional dumbell/barbell routine and switch to kettlebells... drives me nuts

I like kettlebell workouts. I lost a lot of fat and greatly increased my stamina using mainly kettlebells and pullups/chinups.

They aren't the only thing I use now, more like I use them to supplement my workouts. I think they are great for losing weight and increasing stamina but wouldn't suggest they could take the place of conventional weights.

Don't lift weights until you lose weight.

Because the idiom is uninformed, ignorant and stupid?

Throwing your weights down after lifting will make you big like Olympic weightlifters who do the same thing in competitions.
