Doing 25 pound dumbbell presses while sitting on a beach ball and onelegged bodyweight squats do more for your core than squats, deadlifts and cleans.

Lately I've had people trying to convince me that I should ditch the conventional dumbell/barbell routine and switch to kettlebells... drives me nuts

Really, why the resistance to the word dense?

Really, why the resistance to a common idiom?

I like kettlebell workouts. I lost a lot of fat and greatly increased my stamina using mainly kettlebells and pullups/chinups.
They aren't the only thing I use now, more like I use them to supplement my workouts. I think they are great for losing weight and increasing stamina but wouldn't suggest they could take the place of conventional weights.

Because the idiom is uninformed, ignorant and stupid?

Throwing your weights down after lifting will make you big like Olympic weightlifters who do the same thing in competitions.

Yeah this is super common as well.
No one seems to realize lifting weights is a great way to burn calories. They wanna live and die by cardio alone.

Nevermind the fact that the muscle gained via weightlifting can the body burn calories more efficiently.

If they had said, "Muscle has more mass than fat," then I can see your point. But if I say "Muscle weighs more that fat" it's kind of a given that I'm talking about an equal mass of each.
