Ammo for g26
Guys I currently have a g19 gen4 I use 124 gr fmj on range and 124gr Speer gold dot +p jhp as my personal defense round. I have ordered a g 26 gen 4 as my non winter carry and I would like your opinions. How does the g26 handle the above rounds as far as handling or should I scale back to the 115g fmj for range and not use a +p round for defense. Also I would be interested in you personal defense round in your g26

When I used to CCW the G26, I used the Gold Dot 124 +P, just as I did (and do) in my G19s. All Glock 9mms are designed for 9mm NATO, which has greater pressure than standard 9mms, and about the same as 9mm +P.
So no problems.

I use Gold Dot 124 gr in my G26 Gen4.
For range use...the 115gr is giving me inconsistent results...
So I am ordering a bunch of 124gr Speer Lawman ammo for range use.
My G26 has functioned better with 124gr than with 115!

Your G26 can handle all 9mm factory loads including NATO and +P+.

Some people here have reported shooting the G26 better than larger 9mm Glocks and I have to guess that at least a few have found this with +p and +p+ rounds.

GD 124 +P in the 19 and 26 (as well as the Beretta 92, S&W 39, Kel Tec P-11). All eat the GD 124 +P without a hiccup--the Kel Tec is a little snappy with them, but the 26 is just as controllable as the 19 with them.

Recoil Springs are Cheap
I shoot nothing but 124/127 +P/+P+ for carry and practice.
Like shooting with the same thing I'm going to carry.
Or at least the same weight and power.
My gun is a G27 with a Storm Lake 40-9mm barrel.
So I'm thinking I can run HOT HOT HOT 9mm day and night.
All Glocks are designed to run hot NATO ammo anyway.
Any G26/G19 should be able to run endlessly on the hottest 9mm.
I'm thinking I may have to replace my recoil springs a little more often. That's all.
For Defense:
Winchester Ranger T-Series 127 gr +P+
or
Speer GDHP 124 +P
Either round is great stuff.
My G27, with a G23 Storm Lake 40-9mm conversion barrel,
has a big time crush on GDHPs. So that's what I prefer to carry.

Yep. Beats Critical Defense in the weak 115g loads by a LONG shot.

I run 147gr GD in all my 9mms. I like the recoil and they work as well or better than lighter loads for more reliable aggregate penetration IMO. I'm a heavy-for-caliber fan. I'd be fine w/ 124gr +p.
