HI all!
I was checking out the statistics on my photobucket account and noticed that TONS of people were checking out my AK from Glocktalk so I thought I'd join.
This 1960 Polish milled is a little project that I finished up in mid January. I wanted an AK with a Tommy gun feel to it, hence the all wood furniture, fixed stock, and front/rear grips & drum.
The guys from bearrarms.com refinished the furniture (also had the factory Polish forend refinished to match), and did the duracoat work (factory polish mags, romanian drum and slant brake also duracoated to match).
The gun also has Meprolight night sites, a recoil buffer, and I polished the carrier/bolt/piston.
I have 3 other AKs and will post some pics up here soon.
BTW: I'm a Glock owner as well. I have a Gen 3 G17 with a ported Lone Wolf barrel, Hogue grip, and recoil buffer.

That's my Polish Milled in post #685!
I noticed in my photobucket account that pic was getting a bunch of hits from glocktalk so I thought I'd join.
I have some other tasty AKs and wil post a group shot up ASAP.
BTW I'm a glock owner too. My main 9mm pistol is a Gen 3 G17 with a lone wolf barrel, hogue grip and recoil buffer.

My New AK
I just got back in to appreciating the AK platform. I traded one of my ARs for this SGL21. I'd like to add wood furnature, but for now, this is it.

Thank you very much!
I like them all for different reasons but I probably like the WASR the best because:
It's accurate
It's reliable
It cost the least so I can beat on it like a red headed stepchild and not care!
I really only shoot the the AMD and the WASR. I'm not a rich man and have too much money tied up into having the Aresenal and Polish milled refinished to go throwing them around in the desert. They sure look pretty though ;-)

Amen to that. I hate the bad rep WASR gets. Mine shoots just as good as an arsenal and I like the tapco trigger better to tell ya the truth. Never had a problem feeding or ejecting, it stacks rounds like flap jacks, and is cheaper.

Finished building today
Original barrel numbers matching AKS74 on an AK builder flat
Range report:
About 160 down the pipe today of Russian 7n6 ammo.
Not a single hiccup.
Here's 10 at 50 yards iron sighted hand held (one hole at the top was my neighbor at the range who mistakenly shot at the wrong target)

More than just the Ak and bad quality but the camera's down so iPhone pictures will have to do. It's a Polish AKMS.

I have to tell a quick AK story. Just after Obama won the election an acquaintance of mine got me in touch with a frien of his who had a gun for sale. It was an early import Norinco SKS. He had heard that prices had gone up in response to the political situation and he thought it was the time to bouble his money. Well, I thought "what the heck" after all he had invested $90 in the gun, the least I could do was help him out by taking it off his hands for $180
A month later he called me and asked if I would be interested in an AK. So I went to see him. It was a SAR-1 and he was firm about getting his money doubled, after all he had invested $160 in that one. Again being the generous guy I am, so after some hemming and hawing I let him talk me into forking over $320 for the gun and three mags.
I feel like such a schlub because of that kind side of my nature
