A prayer for Lone_Wolfe

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come before you to pray for our friend, Lone_Wolfe. I pray that you would send your angels for protection over her in Afghanistan and all the days of her life. Be with her and wrap your loving arms around her and give her comfort and peace.

Lord, she has paid a big price for her service in the wars, and I ask that you would give her healing of her physical and mental problems. Cast out her doubts and fears, and rid her mind of nightmares and demons. Be with those who are caring for her over there, and give them the knowledge and foresight to know what to do for her. But above all, Lord, I ask again for miraculous healing of her chest. As Jesus healed so many during his ministry on this earth, I ask you to heal her so that there is no doubt where the healing comes from. Remove the scar tissue and inflammation from her cartilage, and mend the bones of her ribs and sternum. Release the bound connecting tissue from her lungs and heal them, and allow her to breathe. You have said "with God all things are possible" and "ask and it will be given you" and "with faith you can move mountains", so I ask you to give her this healing. Let her wake up one morning and say "Wow! I don't hurt today!" Lord, increase her faith and draw her closer to you. Let her feel the presence of your Holy Spirit.

As we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ this week, we think about all of the healing he did, and of his wonderful gift of salvation, and it's in his Holy Name that I pray, and that we have our hope. Amen.

Wolfe, read posts 5672 - 5685 and 5712 again. Good stuff. They should be on your files from engineer.

That should start on thread page 227, Ms. LW.

Yeah true. I guess you know you've been cussed a couple of times and made me cry a lot of times.

Doesn't mean I want to.

Please continue. You have been a great help to Wolfe's recovery.
Yes, he has. I sometimes wonder why someone who never even heard of me before he read this thread would spend so much time and energy on me.

Wolfe, you need to keep visualizing a different outcome for your dreams. I think it was beginning to work before you changed theaters. You need to do this as often as you can, at least 4-5 times a day, and especially when you lay down at night.
Yeah, that did seem to be starting to work before I found out I was coming here. I'm still trying to visualize, but so far no luck yet on the dreams. They're ugly. Hopefully that'll change. My PA here said I'm going to get be rotating my sleep made like I did before to try to get them to work a little better, because I'm getting very little sleep and it's really starting to wear on me.

As for your fear and anxiety for being over there, I want to point out that you have been there for several weeks and you aren't dead yet. I'm sure you haven't told us some things and it's easy for me to say, but I think it's time you can say "screw it". Do your job the best you can for as long as you're able. If you die or get hurt again you do, but you can't live in fear. That's not the XXXXXXXX that Silent Runner knew pre-Afghanistan, and that's what you should try to return to. I know she's still in there, somewhere. You're just a little older and wiser now. And you hurt more.

I want you to know that I pray for your protection and healing every night. Even if I don't say much it doesn't mean I'm not thinking about you. I know I'm not the only one.
I've been saying 'screw it' all along, but so far something inside me doesn't agree with that. A part of me would be relieved if one of these Afghani's kills me, but I think I'm more afraid of getting shot again and having to start all over again recoevering. Not a fun thought. Older and wiser, maybe. I like to think so. Hurt more, that's an understatement.

And you know I thank you for the prayers.

Well, good. I would hate to think I'm not being effective.

Yes, he has. I sometimes wonder why someone who never even heard of me before he read this thread would spend so much time and energy on me.

Funny, huh? I don't know either. I just know I'm supposed to do it. I have no clue where my ideas come from, or what leads me to a certain scripture to post that really captures what you are feeling. A farmer doesn't know how a seed knows to grow when it's planted either, but he knows it will so he keeps planting and harvesting by faith. I take it on faith that someday your life is going to be better, so I keep on posting and encouraging you.

And you know I thank you for the prayers.

I know you do, and I hope you get comfort from them and the scriptures I post.

I really, REALLY hope he's listening.

I know he's listening. He promised he would. I'm going to keep pestering him. I have other people praying for you too that REALLY don't know you.

I started reading, but haven't finished yet. That part's hard to read, if you get my drift.

I know. That's why I wanted you to read it. Sometimes you grasp things better after some time has passed.

Got the CD in and page loaded, thanks to you.
I really appreciate him doing that for you. I would hate for all this to get lost in cyberspace.

Luke 2:8-14

King James Version (KJV)

8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Merry Christmas, Everybody!

That would be fun. Percocet on top of my Fentanyl has weird effects.

I agree, although I've had times when I wish it would.

Well, good. I would hate to think I'm not being effective.
Sometimes I think you're a little too effective.

I know you do, and I hope you get comfort from them and the scriptures I post.
Sometimes I do from them too.

There are times when I really doubt that, but other times when I hope he is.

Please tell those people I said Thank You.

I know. That's why I wanted you to read it. Sometimes you grasp things better after some time has passed.
You mean when time has passed and psychosis has lost it's grip. Before I couldn't even really get my mind around some of that stuff. Or I would, and the next time I thought about it, be right back where I was.

Merry Christmas, Wolfe! We all love you and are praying for major improvement in the New Year. Merry Christmas to all of our Glock Talk friends! Bob, I am in agreement with your prayer for our Wolfe.

Please pray for my husband's Mom. She is suffering from kidney failure and now an enlarged heart. She is a very strong person, though and has lots of faith. They just lost his Dad 4 months ago.

I have my kids and grand kids here now, so I am quite happy!!!!!!!!!!

Same to you, and thank you. You know I love you all, especially those friends here who haven't given up on me in spite of wanting to give up myself. Prayers going up got your MIL, too.

Today was a regular work day for me during the day, and then we had a nice little shindig at the DFAC tonight. They fed us pretty good. Something happened this afternoon that I want to mention. There's a group of Afghani's on the base that are here for military training. One of my customer's office is just past their compound, so I have to walk past there a few times a week. I usually manage to go when there's no one hanging around, but sometimes they'll be sitting there waiting. When they're there they just like to leer and stare at me or any other female they see. I usually just paste a smile on my face and say hello, and keep going.

Today I rounded the corner and there's a large group sitting there, but it was different. This time they had guns. Not AK's luckily, or I wouldn't have been able to walk by them. They had M-4's and M-16's and were just sitting there holding them. I was freaked out, but manage to keep going past them and I don't think they could tell that I was shaking and my knees were jello. Guess a winter coat and sunglasses are good for something. I managed to get around a corner and out of sight before I had my panic attack and started crying. It took a few minutes to compose myself so I could return my customer's laptop that I was carrying to them. I'm still pretty shaky thinking about it.

It's early morning in Afghanistan, so......

MERRY CHRISTMAS, GT!
