Of course, if all those bits and bytes have refused to leave when we release them, then they are not TRULY captives, are they?
Geesie's 575.0 post brings to mind a spot from the second Terminator movie. Arnold has just shot up all the police cars in the universe in the confrontation at the Cyberdyne building. He surveys the destruction, and his attack computer returns the message "Human Casualties: 0.0 ".

The terminator should get together with the Blues Brothers so they can destroy all the police cars in the known universe twice over.

An intriguing thought. Of course, it would be tough on a bunch of municipal budgets.

Ahhhhhh, grasshopper! Your have shown financial administrative savvy worthy of a senior Dungeon embezzlement coordinator!
That is pretty much what the Chicago PD did for the Blues Brothers movie. They sold a bunch of worn-out marked cars to the movie producers, and got a really healthy price for them. The producers were ecstatic with the deal, too; all they had to do to the cars was install roll cages to protect the stunt drivers. I imagine the Terminator producers and LAPD did something comparable, and the producers didn't even have to pop for roll cages!

I just got a new ride, I would prefer it not get destroyed just yet. I sort of miss ole number 3 (the intimidator). It had Cruise, this new one #12 (Wild Bill) doesn't have cruise, which sucks when you do transports most of all. As it is, this is the last of the Vics

Bull, one of the local Co. dept's. had a thing for the Chevy Caprice. So the last year they were made, they bought like 50 or 60 of them. As the high milage ones get rotated out, a N.O.S. one takes it's place. They've got about 6 more years at the going rate before they run out. Brand new 10 yr. old cars !

Unkle, do you have any idea how they managed to bury that big up-front capital expenditure on their budget?
Caprice and Crown Vic ... the HONORABLE cop cars!

Local State Police where using the Chey Impalas but more recently they are running the Tahoe's, I suppose they need better ground/water clearance down here with all the storms and high water situations!
Local S.O. and P.D.'s using the Fords

Yo, Unkle! Blago's lawyers just pulled a cute move that elicits the admiration of the Dungeon Legal Team!
Blago, of course, just began serving his sentence for his tampering conviction. His lawyers have signed him up for the prison's drug rehab program. Now, since Blago, in the last three years, has no evidence of any drug abuse problems, why sign him up? Because successful completion of a prison drug rehab program can knock at least a year off your sentence in Illinois!
The state plans to challenge his use of that loophole in HIS case, but the minds that could even come up with such a dodge deserve some measure of admiration.
