Good 9mm Range Ammo
So before we started with this shindig, I'm not a huge fan of shooting crappy rounds through my G17. That being said, I'm looking for a decent, range round that is relatively inexpensive. Thoughts?

sgammo.com.....Speer Lawman 115gr $199.99 for 1000 rounds, $216 with shipping, works out about the same if you were gonna go to Walmart and buy federal. Plus the Lawman ammo is so much better, thats what I shoot with at the range.

WWB, Federal American Eagle, and Canned heat from Georgia Arms is what I use.

That's the best price I found, too, for "reasonable" sized purchases.
In our local WM's, these boxes are gone quickly, so I have to stop by a couple of times to catch them. The clerk in one of Wally's told me this particular package is shown as discontinued, but he can still place orders for it.
The 50 rd box of Federal for $11.95 is probably the second best.
These are the only items I buy at Wallys.

If you have an Academy Sports nearby, I've had good luck with their Monarch brand. Soft recoil but haven't had any failures yet through my G17 gen3. Made by Prvi Partisan in Serbia I believe. 9mm is $10.99/box for brass case.
They also have the WWB 100rd pack for $21.99.

I shoot the heck out of Blazer. If I can't get Blazer cheap I'll get Federal Champion at Wal-Mart.

I find USA Ammo to be as cheap as anything around here - including Wally World.

If you are looking for quality inexpensive ammo, than I can only recommend three:
Winchester USA
American Eagle
S&B

Winchester 100 round white boxes and Federal Champion from Walmart. Best shooting affordable ammo I have found. Pretty good stuff actually. Priced right, especially when you find it on sale which it was just last week.

Best advice.
Speer Lawmans over anything else FMJ.

I've had great luck shooting dynmit nobel 124gr. From Ammunitiontogo. It's rumored to be NATO spec. Feels just like Win NATO to me, so I agree.

Brass reloads great too.
Been through a few thousand rounds so far. No issues whatsoever.
They do come in some wierd little boxes though. I can fit more in an ammo can than the federal boxes too.

Decent is a relative word and you're going to get a bunch of answers from WWB, federal, UMC, PMC, etc. To me those brands are "decent," but not good enough for me. My personal suggestion for you is to buy something that you're going get the best practice with that closely resembles a real self defense situation when using +P defensive ammo(no, not the kind that fight back ). Speer lawmans are packed hotter than all the brands listed above and closely resemble the Speer Gold Dot +P Hollowpoint ammo. If you want perfect practice, practice with what's going to be close to the real thing..
Remember practice only makes permanent. Perfect practice makes Perfect permanently....

All I shoot at the range is Sellier & Bellot 115 grain. You can find it at Cabela's for 9.99 a box. It shoots a little hotter than a normal 115 grain round, and I've got 1500 rounds through my Glock 19 without a hiccup.

I am a big fan of Rem UMC 115 grain. Not so much with PMC.

Hey there, Ole Roger. I shot 100 rounds of aguila 45acp 230gr through my suppressed hk45c the other day and it ran flawlessly. I'd swear you are buying the same thing as Remington ammo since the stuff is actually made in meh-hi-co on Remington equipment....

Cool man. Thanks for the info. Just looking at the stuff, it appears to be good quality.

My range sells PMC. I haven't had a problem at all with the 1,200++ rounds I've put through my 17. I also see no difference in the WWB I shoot at my buddy's house. Plus it's cheaper than dirt.

Hey thanks for letting us know. I just placed my order for a 1000 round case of Lawman 115gr. Good stuff at that price. I usually get all my SD ammo from SGAMMO.com too Great family owned retailer.
