Mine is on it's way and the scope I want is probably a month out but..........

What are the basic "fixes" this rifle should have done to squeeze the maximum accuracy out of it w/o a barrel or other major parts replacement. I don't mind a visit to my gunsmith either. I'd like to be able to at least attempt some 800 yard plus shots.

The most important things in order:

1. Make sure the scope base and mounts are properly and securely mounted

2. Make whatever adjustments you need to to the stock so it fits you properly. This usually takes the form of LOP and comb adjustments.

3. Find what type of ammunition it shoots the best

4. Have someone competent adjust the trigger so it's under 4# but not ridiculously light

There she is. As you can see my range set-up is rudimentary. I won't be posting my range results as they are dismal. I have it zeroed at 100 yards and the gun is quite capable but I need work. My reloads gave the best results but printed about 2 inches left and about an inch high, consistently. Friday I get my bi-pod and rear bag and when I find someone with a CNC mill I'll get the tact. bolt knob installed. Then I can concentrate on breathing, trigger control and the rest of the accessories needed. Funny thing, although it has very manageable recoil, I'm suddenly having trouble with anticipating recoil. Having some fun now!
