I'm looking for something I can take with me that also splits wood. I've heard good things about the Ka-Bar Bowie and also the RTAK II (more than double the money). The only thing that scares me about the Ka-Bar is breaking the handle if I hit it by mistake. That being said is the RTAK worth double the money? Is there a third and better option? Thanks!

Dear Lone Kimono,

Get the Ka-Bar. Don't hit the handle that's usually where your hand is. If you do ever break a Ka-Bar you can always get another, and they've proven themselves in 60 years of use.
