Haha I have no idea, here is my attempt:

-If you tuck your guns to bed in the safe at night

Consider it added...But I hope you have one gun that gets to sleep with you...

Glockdude started the thread and when I started reading it, I decided to put them down on a .doc for prosperity and it took off from there. Some are mine, but most come from the 1,150 posts. I just copied them down.

The submissions started slowing down some after the first 800...

.. You wake up multiple times during the night to get you guns a glass of grease and check that they are sleeping well.

- some nights you sleep on the lounge becuase your favorite gun that sleeps with you keeps hogging the blanket

It always made perfect sense to you that Sledge Hammer used to talk to his gun, and you couldn't understand why the other characters on the show thought this was wierd.

"Who you talking to?"
"No one."

it was shortened (who wants to say all that) to "thirty of '06" (pronounced 'oh-six').
then eventually became "thirty alt six".

just easier to say i guess, but i'm no historian. that's just what i heard.
I always thought it was 30 ought 6, like in double ought buckshot '00 buck' where ought means zero.

All are right. Not matter how you say it, the .30-06 is a great round.

It's all just an old fashion way of saying 'zero'

you don't register your bridal pattern at Sears, you register your favorite caliber at your local gun store.
