Is this the change that is coming to America???

"I am in this race to tell the coporate lobbyist that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. I have done more than any other candidate in this task to take on lobbyist and won. The have not funded my Campaign and they will not drown out the vote of the American people when i am president"!
PRESIDENT ELECT Barrack OBAMA (taken from official speech-- Des Moines, [/b]

Iowa Nov.10 2007) as sighted from obamas official website and documentation for change.
link is from the official obama blue print for change under ethics. pg .17 of document

http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/Obama...tForChange.pdf

The Lobbying promise

The official Obama campaign Web Site said no political appointees would be permitted to work on "regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years." It added that "no political appointee will be able to lobby the executive branch after leaving government service during the remainder of the administration."

But almost exactly one year ago, on Nov. 3, 2007, candidate Obama went considerably further than that while campaigning in South Carolina.

"I don't take a dime of their money, and when I am president, they won't find a job in my White House," he said of lobbyists at the time. [/u]

Because they often have prior experience in government or politics, lobbyists have routinely filled out the list of potential appointees for past presidents of both parties.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon is also among the canidates for Tresurey Secetary. His company donated to obama campain and benifited also from the buyout plan. Hmmmmmmmmm!

The one of the top contributors, If not the Top, to Barak Obama election bid is Goldman Sachs

just a small list of the corporate lobbyists that backed Pres elected Obama

http://theprolific.com/2008/08/meet-...orate-backers/

Goldman Sachs leader headed up the commission pushing for the bailout plan.i bet his real motive is to cut the loses for his former bosses, after all i am sure he doesn't have any vested interest in his former company? IE golden parachute award, retirement funds, stock options, past bonus payments, not to mention friends, and family that might still work there.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/1...65.html?page=5

don't forget warren buffet who said we need this bailout plan made money off of Goldman Sachs . Of course he is for Paulson to push the bailout who wouldn't be. Ever heard of double dipping?"

Buffet makes money off of the bailout from goldman Sachs and cuts losses off from this debacle.

The Nebraska-based billionaire, whose fortune is estimated at $62billion, threw his weight wholeheartedly behind Henry Paulson's rescue package for Wall Street, arguing that US industry will "grind to a halt" without action.

"Last week, we were at the brink of something that would have made anything that's happened in financial history pale," Buffet told CNBC television. "I'm not saying the Paulson plan will eliminate the problems but it's absolutely necessary, in my view, to avoid going off the precipice."

Buffet, whose opinions are hugely influential among millions of private investors in the US, said that if the Treasury acts shrewdly by buying banks' distressed assets at a competitive price, taxpayers will end up as financial winners.

"I bet they'll make a profit," said Buffet, who pointed out that hedge funds specialising in junk assets were already picking up mortgage-related securities with a view to making profits of 15% to 20%. He said a positive return was feasible if the government ignores the book value of instruments or the original cost to banks and instead pays the prevailing market rates for the bombed out assets.

"They'll pay back the $700billion and make a considerable amount of money if they approach it like that," said Buffet. "I would love to have $700billion at Treasury rates to buy fixed-income securities - there's a lot of money to be made."

Buffet's $5billion investment in Goldman Sachs' preferred stock was matched by a further $5billion capital raising yesterday as the bank took the opportunity to bolster its balance sheet. Goldman's shares, which fell as low as $86 last week, rose by 2% to $127.88 during early trading in New York."

Warren Buffet is a "unofficial adviser" to OBAMA in financial matters . he also endorsed Obama for President.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2...ett.wallstreet

It is funny how a corporate entity receives money from American buyout plans, and reinvests it from us to give it to a presidential candidate of whom never has received any money from "lobbyist" and we expect him to not be dictate too. this change!!!!

i guess this is the change we are waiting to come?? Notice Any of the top names?HMMMMMMMMM!
by the way Goldman Sachs profited off of us from the 700 billion debacle here is proof of just how twisted this whole scenario has been . goldman Sachs has profited off of the bailout. Hmmmmmm! see a connection!

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/09/22/...ldman-bailout/

UBS Ag makes profits but warns of losses??

http://www.news.com.au/business/stor...rom=public_rss

but yet they received along with goldman Sachs federal aid IE the bailout plan from their American subsidiaries

The bottom line is read his lips " Change is a coming" but so far over the very little research that i have done states to me that this is Business as usual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Picking an economic team. Who is going to help President Obama turn the economy around? Among his possible picks for Treasury secretary are former Clinton Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers, former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, New York Federal Reserve Bank President Timothy Geithner, and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon. Also expect his current top adviser on money matters, Jason Furman, to lead the White House economic team.

before you guys comment look at the facts from the links after that you can discredit all you want.

Our politicians and their good ole buddies have sold the soul of the American dream for greed, and Obama is surfing the wave.

i guess we will have to see. looks like wealth redistribution has worked from him and Goldman Sachs.Let's not forget Warren Buffet either."you scratch my back and i will scratch yours" holds new meaning when your taxes are raised due to this fiasco.

I guess he will start pandering to the UN next, if a terror attack happens or some other drastic national event. Awful dirty so far, for a man that hasn't spent one day on the job yet. Sad thing about all of this, Mc Cain isn't much better on some of his policies either. IE illegal immigration and international treaty ensnarement as well.

OH, one more thing. you the american people will probably be liable for the legal bills of the mortage executives under the 700billon dollar buy out plan!!!**

Where are the True leaders of America!!

I'm scared as hell. I am still wondering what his plans are considering he hasn't divulged any yet. And don't tell me that "Yes, I can" and "Change" are plans.

Also, no politician is honest, and if you think that BO, a far left dem, trying to play the center left/right positon, then I have some great lakefront property in sothern fla if you are interestes.

Just a quick question, is the view great with your head up your ass?

I got on one of the websites. Haven't read it all yet but looking at the gun control pieces and it seems like he doesn't really answer too many of the questions asked, or he sidesteps the issue or brings up a whole different topic all together. He contradicts himself and almost seems to say what the interviewer wants to here.

Almost like his campaigning. Interesting.

Head up your ass? Where have you been for the past 8 years? Lowest approval ratings for a President in the history of this nation... You voted for GWB I am sure, yet you have the balls to say someone who voted for Obama has their head up their ass? YOU have YOUR head up your ass and are as politically ignorant as it gets farnhamj.

Say what you want however there have been no road side bombs, suicide bombers or weapons of mass distruction over here. We certainly have had our share of natural disasters in the past 8 years they have been very costly. NAFTA has finally caught up with us. Buying something that is made in America is extremely difficult.
Obviously our safety came with a price.

If you believe that Obama can really end America, you are wrong on two counts:

The democrats aren't that strong.
We aren't that weak.

Four years on the edge will just be a wake-up call to those conservatives that aren't doing everything they can to better our country and fight for our rights.

I will never cease to be amused by how utterly delusional Obama voters are. When I press them about what sort of change they want all they can give me is some crap about Look at the last 8 years and that they voted for a [half] black man.

So far all of them say they don't want to live in a socialist state, but Obama clearly wants one.

All of them want our boarder secured, but Obama has made it clear he doesn't (look at his cabinet picks). Sadly, McCain wasn't much better.

All of them want UNITY when he can't even unite his own party, but they are still trying say that a 52/48 spread indicates that we are.

All of them want honesty after he's been a major player in the most corrupt city in the country.

All of them support the second amendment but then voted for a president who has repeatedly stated that he believes that no one should be allowed to own firearms. They would know that if they took the time to actually look at his voting record instead of listening to is campaign crap.

They say he will improve the economy when every policy that he has proposed - cap and trade, redistribution, unionisation - have proven time and time again to bring economic collapse. Not to mention his intimate involvement in the subprime mortage collapse after it was McCain trying to blow the whistle on it.

Granted the Republicans are headed in pretty much the same direction, they just went along with nationalising the banks, mortgage industry and the auto industry. They've gotten too spineless to stand up to the upcoming socialist utopia.

Just keep living in your little dream world. If you wanted Karl Marx just admit that a get on with it. If you didn't, you're too uniformed to be voting.

Tailgunner, you kind of get used to it from him if you read enough posts from him. A new college grad from a college who have left wing profs (who are aloud to spew any crap and call it truth, brainwashing young students) who is spewing same left wing ideals and thinks he has it all figured out and that people with life experience throughout the last few presidents have no clue.

Stay tuned for more. It gets real funny sometimes.

Yea, it is funny. Funny that so many idiots are against the new President of this nation that was elected pretty strongly by the electorate. But since he isnt a white, redneck with Heston's package in his mouth, they hate him. Oh yea, and ANY type of attempts to prevent crime with gun laws they HATE. background checks are stupid to fools like farnhamj. appropriate psychological stature means jack **** to this moron.

I own guns like farnhamj and many others that have their head so far up the ass of the NRA they cant see the magazines they are trying to load. If Heston and the NRA said the guy is bad, he must be so i hate him. thats the rhetoric and mindset of fools like farny.

because wavetrain - tired, old, pissed-off defeated-Republicans have to have somewhere to whine, cry, and moan about our new President-elect because he isnt more of the same. For some people like farny, they want MORE OF THE SAME from the W crew. for the other Americans that are sick and tired of the crap and the wasteful spending that was presided over by a REPUBLICAN claiming to be a fiscal and compassionate conservative, we voted for the only person different from W.

McCain is a class-act. He accepted defeat and pledged to work with Obama and now many whinyass crying Republicans are blasting him for it. The man has character. I dont agree with his politics most of the time, but he is a class act.

But the reason this thread is still open... some old connies need somewhere to whine and cry b/c their guy lost. big time. and its OK. I enjoy reading it.

watch the line man. Sounds kinda racist and prejudiced to me. My dislike (not hate) of this POTUS-elect has only a part due to A2 issues. There are many other parts which have been discussed over and over again.

Do you seriously think that more gun laws are going to lower gun related crimes? Criminals are always going to have gun, but if you keep adding more restrictive gun laws, citizens like you and me are not going to be able to defend ourselves if needed.

never said that, never implied that, don't know where in the hell you got that impression from. I think background checks are very important in any gun sale or permit.

He is bad in many aspects, and one is related to 2A issues. I respect your choice when voting. Use whatever excuses you need to justify your ballet but please don't spout crap about how the POTUS-elect is not bad for 2A rights. He is the worse we could have in regards to 2A rights; He has stated outright that he wishes no civilian have a gun...pistol, rifle, shotgun, anything. Scares the hell out of me.

farnhamj - background checks ARE a form of gun control. If you support them then you support mild forms of gun control. that is what i support. im not a nazi that believes in all of Obama's previous or current stances on gun control, but i will be damned if i am going to vote against him because of this stance alone. but to each his own. hope you had a merry christmas.

Actually, this Christmas was the best I have had in recent years and I think this is due to the fact that I just have grown to appreciate my family more and more and the fact that I got to spend it with my mother and father and sister was wonderful. Not to mention, next Christmas, I will be active duty Army so I might not be here with them :(

Good news on the $ for the 17. Fantastic piece, the glock that started it all! thats normally the piece I take camping with me, as in i dont have to worry about concealment!

Now - we get to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! for the next few days!!! So, Happy New Year to all!!!!

When do you deploy and where to you head to? Military's not the thing for me, although I do appreciate all that is done by all branches for this country. Thanks for all you're about to do in your line of career and your life.
