Oh, we can hope. Their missile can only reach the left coast.

It's something that the liberal mindset has never understood...the mentality of the bully. 'Toss your guns in the ocean and there will be peace & harmony'. Reality...look at Chicago. Unilaterally reduce the nuclear arsenal, apologize to the world,....and you have countries standing in line to smack you around.

I think Obama's actions are intentional. He does not want the US to be thought of as a "Super Power". He is working hard to change that stature, and NK (along with other nations) recognize his goal. Oddly enough, the only ones who fail to recognize it are the dolts that voted him into office.

Guarantee that most Obama voters couldn't find North Korea on a map.

With this leadership, I'm sure any response, if any, would be pretty tame comparatively.

I'll take that one, but I was guessing that coordinate was a lot further east.

This is the one I was guessing.

N 38° 53' 44.808", W 77° 2' 11.4"

I'd say they are the most likely to have the will (they're crazy) and the ability (they're Koreans) to actually hit us with a nuclear missile.

Our other threats would have to strap a small nuke to a donkey and control is with a suicide bomber and an old light switch taped to the firing mechanism and it probably wouldn't work.

I think the scary part is just knowing for a fact they are freaking crazy.

Could they? maybe, maybe not.

Would they? maybe, maybe not, but they are at the very least talking about it, and that makes them crazier than everyone else I know of.

You don't see the connection between Rodman's positive visit and this renewal of hostilities between the US and NK by the gov't and media? Rodman (and the Harlem Globetrotters!) sat there with KJU, looking real buddy buddy. Rodman comes back talking about how great KJU is. Next thing you know the media is running on about how NK is going to nuke us and whatnot. This is called propaganda. Can't have anything positive be said about NK in the American press! The fedgov relies on your fear to keep you under control. NK relies on the same fearmongering. NK isn't going to nuke us. We aren't going to nuke them. Big rule of warfare these days is nuclear capable countries don't attack each other. Good ol' MAD at work.

It's not MAD - N Korea isn't Russia.

A nuke going off in this country would absolutely be destruction. Our economy would implode overnight, our Constitution shredded on live tv, and martial law implemented. Our way of life would be history.

Destruction isn't solely about physical destruction of land. Narrow minded view you have.

Uh, no.

A single nuclear weapon detonating on the west coast (all NK can hit) wouldn't end America anymore than crashing a couple planes full of our citizens did.

It would however, end NK.

He'd last about 2 hours after doing that.

EMP? It could be lights out for all of us for a very long time?

I would think that is the real danger since we are discounting their equipments ability to strike much of our country.

Just so you know, SAC is represented in Korea (Just SACamsised boys/girls that happen to be wearing a PACAF crest), stationed in the armpit of Korea.

Much shorter than that, and it would be complete scorched earth.

That right there is the total truth. If we had any leaders worth being called that they would already be in China having this conversation. Ask China how their economy would do if their shipments to the United States were all returned to sender.

Ask China why a unified Korea would be such a bad deal. North Korea has shown how bad a communist country can be for business and people.

Don't make a threat of war, make a statement about economic distruction. China doesn't want their population really angry either.
