Only 1 listed from Colorado; I know for a fact there are at least 2 more and as many as 6 (if none have craw-fished in the past year).

I agree with you but lets face it, what is there to gain by publicly announcing it?

Meanwhile there is so much to lose....

I admire Sheriff Joe for his outspokenness but here in Colorado its a much different game, Term Limits included, I wished we had the voting power to turn term limits off for the Sheriff's elected position but that didn't happen because of poorly educated voters too easily swayed by incorrect political advertising.

It's definitely incomplete since Fresno County, CA Sheriff Margaret Mims isn't on there:

But it is good that so many standing up, on the list or not.

Here's the full article and she is on there.

http://fromthetrenchesworldreport.co...updated/31948/

No surprise to see the NorCal Sheriffs on there and none from SoCal where CCW's are rarer than an honest politician.

I would have expected San Bernardino Sheriff to be on there if anything though but he is retiring and who knows how the new one is going to be.

They updated the list after I posted it or I was looking a previous revision of the article. Either way, good on 'em for saying something.........

Well, here in western Colorado there were 4 sheriffs that stood up at least a year ago and said they would nor enforce any kind of federal firearms restrictions; including mine in Mesa County.

They don't have the Washington county, Oregon sheriff yet, and that's a big, highly populated county here. I was actually surprised about it.

There is no way that list is complete.

Its not, but its hard to keep an evolving list upto date.

Hopefully they update it periodically.

A lot of Sheriffs are up for reelection this year.

And they are first and foremost politicians.

While it's true that they are politicians and some(or many) may be up for reelection, if the media is to be believed, the majority of the citizenry is for further restrictions on firearms. If that's the case, then this wouldn't help them, it would probably have the opposite effect.

Who do you think has a better idea of what the majority of their constituents want, the Sheriffs or the media?

I'd hope that the Sheriff's do however public statements like this, particularly at this time, can have an effect far beyond their respective counties which, in turn, could bring negative consequences back on them.

While my boss is a politician, he was just re-elected before being put on this list. He received less than favorable attention from the media for his stance. He was even bolder when answering their questions stating he will not violate civil rights be enforcing unconstitutional laws and will NOT have his people enforcing unconstitutional laws.

I've known and worked for my boss for well over 20 years. He carries a Wilson CQB and is one that "would do, to ride the River with".

My guess is that these Sheriff's are on the same page as my boss. Either way, I'll gladly take their second amendment support.

The size of that list was depressing.
