Favorite Christmas Music Thread ....and Movie Thread
SINCE the two major radio stations that I listen to while driving to and from work, (or driving anywhere for that matter)
began playing Christmas Music Thanksgiving Day, I got to thinking...start a thread!
My hubby and I already watched together....
White Christmas.
Today, I got the living room ready....dusted, vacuumed, and
steam cleaned...for the Christmas Tree! (I usually do all this
during Thanksgiving week, but I was sick that week, so I am a little late this year.)
Tree will go up and get decorated this weekend when hubby gets home!
I am now watching, a favorite of MINE...a movie that takes place around Christmas...
The Family Man.

This song has been probably my favorite since I was a little girl...probably as long as I can remember.
Josh Groban does it very well!

Christmas Music: "Christmas with the Academy"-- Sir Neville Mariner and the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields (an excellent CD).
Christmas Movie: a toss up between "It's a Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Carol" (the 1951 Alastair Sim version.)

Love me some "The Christmas Story." I'll actually sit there and watch as many of the 24 hours as possible. A few years I actually watched all 24 hours; but getting old sucks.
My stand by is It's a Wonderful Life, but to be honest I love almost every Christmas movie. It's my holiday of choice.
For best song I'd have to say:
In Dulci Jubilo by Mike Oldfield.

Wow! All wonderful songs, everyone! GREAT songs!
This morning as I was driving to work, I heard one of my very favorite songs! I had almost forgotten it somehow!
I saw this group in concert two Christmas' ago. My daughter walked down the aisle at her wedding to a different version of this same tune.

Mr. Tous, I love the song by the Carpenters that you posted. This would be another that they did that is a long time favorite for me...

Early this morning, I was out and about running errands. It looked like it could snow...yes, I do remember what that looks like!
This song came on the radio....and I thought, well, anything is possible, but the temperature here needs to drop about 40 to 50 degrees for snow to happen!

My favorite movie is White Christmas. I really don't have a favorite Christmas song. I really liked the 1950's music albums Firestone used to sell. Many different singers and great songs. tom.

I love that movie as well.
I went to see a new doctor last week, a specialist. I was very nervous about the appointment, but when I arrived at his office, he had "White Christmas" playing in his waiting room. I thought that was very unique, especially for the area
we live. Nice touch.
Then, when I was called back and met him, he was a very gentle soul. By the time I left his office, I felt like I had visited his family in his home, not a doctor's office.
(Before I went back, they never even asked for my co-pay, so I went up and asked, "Don't I need to pay you something? They almost said, if you want to, you can.)
I did pay what my usual co-pay is...because they were so kind, it didn't hurt at all!
