i was shooting my brand new glock 17 Gen 4, while shooting my slide locked back like the magazine was empty. then i noticed one of my pins in the frame had backed out almost the whole way. after pushing the pin back in and making sure nothing else was wrong i started racking the slide back and forth and it randomly locks back without a magazine in it. Can anybody help me with this?

Remove the slide. Push the locking block pin in about ¼ ways in left to right. Push the trigger pin in about ¼ or more ways in. remove the slide stop lever. Push the locking block pin back in. Install the slide stop lever push the trigger pin back in. If it still does not work you bent the slide stop lever spring.
You will probably have to wiggle the slide stop lever when trying to push in on the trigger pin.

Now is the time to learn to detail strip it and put it back together (rather than most Glock owners waiting for several years to learn).

Many, many resources on the web (you tube it) - very easy, have a roll of masking or duct tape on hand, and a punch tool.

Look at the slid stop spring after you take it apart to see if it is broken or bent.

If pins are walking out you need to contact Glock, in rare cases it can mean the slide stop spring is weak or the slide stop is otherwise out of spec, but it usually means either the pin or the locking block are out of spec. If Glock wants you to send the gun back to them, request a shipping label.

WHICH PIN?

Glock pins are numbered: 1, 2, and 3. Starting from the highest to the lowest. All Glock pins remove from the left-hand side of the frame, and reinstall from the right-hand side. (When you're looking down on the frame from the top.) Always remove and reinstall the #1 pin FIRST.

While removing the #2 pin you might have to gently wiggle the slide stop up and down. This is normal assembly/disassembly procedure. Your problem is PROBABLY caused by either a damaged or out-of-place slide stop spring. Here's how a properly located slide stop spring should look:



The slide stop spring should always be UNDERNEATH the #1 pin. If yours is, then that spring has to be either out of its groove, or damaged; and the slide stop, itself, needs to be replaced. Here, this should help you out:

I had to send my G34 to Glock to have this repaired. The holes in the frame were too big (from the factory).
