It's generally regarded as the home of kooks, conspiracy nuts, and idiots.
The people that post articles there have a habit of taking a legitimate news story, then putting their own spin on it to make it seem like some grand conspiracy.

Thanks very much, now I understand. Had no idea at all. I was doing a search for a news story I was told about and that just happened to be the link I selected. Never heard of the site before.

I think people who watch mainstream media are the real kooks.

I believe Feinstein is proposing that existing owners could keep them but there would be no transfers allowed. I may be wrong about that, but if you think prices jumped during the last AWB, wait until this happens!
What would happen upon the owners death? I assume they would have to be turned in and couldn't transfer to heirs.
Anyway, it's not going to happen.

They have no clue who has what, they are just pissing in the wind, only way they'd get mine was to pick it up off a big pile of spent brass

Two options:
1. I'll give up my guns - boolits first. One at a time.
2. I'll give up my guns, when they pay me exactly what I have invested in them.

As posted nobody knows who has what anymore, it would truly be impossible to enforce and ban of this type. I am unaware of any nationwide door to door law enforcement collection of anything in U.S. history and I really do not think we are ever going to see one.

Americans don't think it can happen here......but it will, in our lifetime!
I think the question we should be asking is, "should we start organizing militias now?".
The Japanese didn't invade this country in 1941 because they knew that many Americans were well-armed. WOULD YOU HAVE FOUGHT THEM IF THEY HAD INVADED? I would have. Why should our own government be any different than an invading army? Isn't that why the 2nd Amendment was included in the Bill of Rights?
It's NOT bravado when I say that I would fire the first shot to start the New Revolution..... IT'S MY DUTY and MY RIGHT!!!!!!!

They are building how big of a spy center in Utah? You don't think that they already have the form 4473's in the system?
I think it is as silly to think that they don't know what is out there as it is to think that you will be able to get rid of the government agents with flip responses.
They will use the IRS and every other government agency to make you comply. All they have to do is make a few violent examples. You think the military and police aren't up for that. Reference Ruby Ridge, Waco, Bonus Army march, Ken Ballew raid, etc.
Every gun owner should read Unintended Consequences by John Ross. It is a great novelized history of gun control in America.

A 4473 only tells about the first person to buy that gun.
I have owned over 100 firearms, but have sold nearly all of them face-to-face. Who knows who owns them now.......

Japan did not invade America in WWII because they could not logistically nor militarily not because of "armed American citizens". Your referring to the Yamamoto quote but taking it out of context.
And we are nowhere near the point of needing to form militias. You are confusing the fact that you disagree with the results of the elections / direction the country is currently headed with the ideal that it was / is somehow unconstitutional and thus demands an armed response from the citizens.
The effective way to correct the direction the country is headed is thru the political system not thru some unreasonable internet babble about a revolution.
And as posted logistically it is impossible to enforce door to door confiscation. Anybody have even a single example of something even half that scale ever occurring in America?

Hope they brought their S.C.U.B.A. gear.
Not gonna happen. Congress knows better, unless they're all planning on retiring at the end of their current term.

Since there is no such thing as a national registration (Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986) we're OK on a national level. The Feds don't have a clue as to what we own. On a state level, well, those poor fools who live in a state that has a state registration might have some problems. The bottom line - for me - is that I have no guns ever since that horrible boating accident years ago.

Doesn't the government know what we have from non-private sales and purchase because of the federal form we fill out and background checks?

From the background checks? No, they don't know anything (make, model, serial number, etc) from that.
From the form? The form stays with your dealer. (unless dealer goes out of business within a certain number of years of your purchase)
