How do you edit a post you have made in someone else's thread?

I've been through all 7 pages of this thread and I guess I must of missed my answer:

When you are logged in, there will be an "edit" box next the "quote" box within your posts, unless the thread has been locked.

Thanks Breadman03, but I've posted on the For Sale forum and there is no Quote Box and no Edit box. The For Sale forum must be different. I am signed in.
