VZ grips...

I'm interested in getting some VZ grips and I want to ask those who have them or have had them if you bought the upgraded screws/bushings and o-rings? Worth it? Just preference? Any info helps. Thanks.

I've ever ran o-rings,......I use clear nail polish on the threads.
Acts like a very light thread locker

I use the o-rings on mine. I started out without them and noticed that after a shooting session the screws were loose. I didn't use thread locker though I guess that would be an alternative.

On my 1911's the vibration from shooting 45ACP's loosened the grip screws. O rings solved the problem. As far as the upgraded bushings and grip screws, I think that is personal preference, if you like the look then buy them. Make sure you buy the right set of bushings and screws to match the thickness of your grips. I have VZ and Larry D grips on my 1911's and have been very happy with them. Additionally, I use blue loctite on the bushings.

I just put VZ's on my Super Carry Pro, no O rings. I will let you know how they do....

I have read and have been told that the O ring thingy does work well though. (as stated here)

Bought their screws and o-rings when I bought my grips. Very pleased with how they work and look.

I'm running some on my Springfield now and love them. They are worth it but they ain't givin' them away; they're very rugged, are very visually pleases without being easily marred, you can run them hard.

Just wish there were a local stocking dealer that would allow me to feel the different patterns and see the colors in person before dropping $70+ on grips...

No after market bushings, screws or O-rings. If this turns out to be a problem I'm sure they're locally--I'd skip them at checkout.

clear nail polish works for me also. Check out these grips SKINGRIPZ.COM I saw them on another forum advertised for $29.00 + free shp not bad 1/4 of the price for the VZ grips. I am ordering a set & then I am ordering the fancy screws from VZ. As SkinGripz does not carry any hardware.
