Unertl DLX

Picked this up on GB a couple months ago. A lucky find!

I believe that BAC has one of these as well.

Congrats!

They're just about impossible to find anymore. They very rarely show up on GB these days.

Its an incredibly solid 1911.

I'm not real big on the OD but that is a cool looking 1911.

Yeah, they didn't build many, but a large percentage of what they did build had an OD finish.

Thanks for the kind remarks. I agree, not a big fan of OD green either. But, it really is a pleasure to shoot. This is my first gov. 1911 with a bull barrel and I have been impressed with the balance and speed back on target. It is very easy to shoot well. I'm not sure if all the DLX models came with the same components, but I was surprised to find that it had an MIM ignition set (no judgement either way, just surprised given the price point when in production). Perhaps bac could comment as to the set-up on his gun. Regardless, I am very happy with it. I think "solid" is a very accurate description of this gun.

I believe they were all the same spec, actually. In fact, I believe Unertl's other two 1911s used the same small parts spec as well.

The commander had a standard bushing barrel setup though.

I didn't think they had any MIM either, but I've never had mine completely apart.
