New EDC light

I had a 40.00 light from smith and wesson with striking bezel momentary on/off or twist for constant on cree bulb 100 lumen s. Not the slightest idea what happened to it.

the light was "ok" it worked but would constantly be on because the tail cap was cheap so could be activated by pushing the side of the light.

I would like a light that just does momentary on/off or constant at at least 100 lumens, cree bulb, and takes double AA's striking bezel would be a plus I would like to keep it under or around 50.00. Why not just get the same light again? well it was my second one so I giving something else another shot to see if it holds up better. Thanks in advance

You will get many surefire posts, but the $ ain't right, and neither is the battery in most cases. My personal favorite is the Quark series, which are really bright, with great throw, and AA users with momentary on or "click constant on" capability. The tactical version is what I currently carry the most, but the cost is slightly higher for the tactical. The quality is high, and the lights are programmable, but I only use two easily selected settings. Highest and medium, which REALLY lengthens battery life. However, despite the tactical name, the striking bezel is absent. The size is perfect for Kubotan techniques though.
For times when I need less light I always have my pelican 1910 in my pocket for backup.
Another company to check out is Fenix. I don't like their forward-clicky switches as well as the quark, but they are a good solid light for a decent price.
Until recently, streamlight would have been a contender, however the quality has gone down significantly imo.
Good Luck.

I've had great luck with Coastal LED lights. The price is about right. Anything is they are usually brighter than 100 lumens and they don't have the bezel like your Smith and Wesson did. Also they don't run on AA batteries, they run off AAA batteries.
