Value of Springfield Armory 1911A1 Compact

A guy I work with is looking to sell a S.A 1911A1 Compact. It is blued with a commander hammer and wooden factory grip panels. It has a beveled mag well.

It has the usual idiot mark plus and addition C shaped mark on the left side of the slide. It looks like when someone tried to put the slide stop in the swung it down against the slide. IIRC this covered almost the entire polished flat side. This was a new one to me.

I told the guy to keep it, not a bad gun but I don't think it's worth a whole heck of a lot.

I tried to look it up on GunsAmerica with no luck in finding this model.

Any help is appreciated.

If anyone has this model, what did you pay for it?

There are a few variations out there. Rare, since they don't make them anymore, but haven't double in price or anything.

Here's mine. Value around $500-650.

More like the second one, but not two tone Has a three hole trigger. Grips are nicely checkered wood and are beveled at the bottom. Nicely blued.

I didn't know they weren't making these any more.

Thanks for the replies.
