I remember shooting a lever .22, using "short" ammo and how it was almost silent.
Great "city" squirrel gun for sure.
All that said, I cannot complain about my 10/22 purchased back in 1979. Thousands of rounds at small game and the unlucky beer can have given me many smiles......heck, it still does.
