Replicating the problems that a pistol may encounter is not a thing easily done. I know how frustrating it is to have a pistol that doesn't want to run right; my long ago .380 liked to drive me crazy. It looked good, felt right, and was a decent size to carry. And then it wouldn't run right....
I made that gun go away, swore off Walthers 'till I stumbled across a .32 Interarms gun. The .32 is a whole different beast; they eat about anything and are pleasant to shoot.
Let's not be too hard on S&Walthers. The .380 version is just a challenge to run and gun, no getting around it and no matter who made it. Smith's customer service is hard to beat; they've fixed stuff for me that I wouldn't have fixed on a $20 bet.
As Pier 23 has discovered, to his annoyance, sometimes the **** works and sometimes it doesn't.
I've been there and done that; all's well that ends well.
