For most of my life, I only handled rifles and shotguns that don't require CHLs (that's what TX calls a conceal license). I didn't travel by car much, and when I did, they permitted long guns in transportation without a reciprocal license.
But later in life my needs changed. I wanted to carry a handgun because I lived in a big city, and I also needed to travel by myself, and with the social and economical situations, CHLs are held in high regard, it made sense to now get one as a matter of simple responsibility. I also looked at it as an achievement because it is not small thing in TX. I also like any opportunity to learn more, taken classes from professionals, so I'm not taking anything including my knowledge for granted. I believe in safety safety safety, and then carrying can be a responsibility without worry.
