My brother-in-law scared off a potential attacker sometime back on a major city subway by clicking the safe of his 238 on and off while it was in front pocket carry and out of sight. It took about three or four "clicks" and a Clint Squint from my relative for the approaching thug to get the message, but it worked and said street boy exited the car and the train at the next exit.
He was with his wife and four year old twin boys and this in a major anti gun city too....He loves that 238 even more now.
