I think it comes down to being able to hit your target...if you carry a 10 round mag in any caliber, and shoot to slide-lockback w/o hitting your opponent, it just really sucks being you that day. I also believe that a 10 round mag backed up by another (or 2) 10 round mags, still makes for formidable firepower...in any reasonable caliber. When we routinely carried revolvers, and many still do, we knew we had to make our shots count. I think we may have to return to that mentality...make all 10 count!
