Weeeeell you may be wrong on this one statement, our Vol. Dept has several that carry on a regular basis, I usually respond to the scene in POV and if not in turnout gear I'm usually open carrying

I am in rural VA and guns are just part of our area. I do usually lock it up in my vehicle if its an active house fire.
In our area most all CCW classes are held at FD's and the FF's gets the class for free

Did I mention how great VA is
