Officer Tom Decker, a six-year veteran and father of four, was killed while trying to help a man believed to be suicidal. He had gone to check on a manís welfare when he was fatally shot after getting out of his squad car...
Investigators said that the man who was reported to be suicidal was taken into custody.
Another LEO willingly stepped into the breach even when the shooter's own family couldn't or wouldn't. Without LEOs like Officer Decker, there would be only anarchy.
RIP Decker. Condolences to your family.
There are at least two sides to every story. I just heard yours and, indeed, you appear to be the victim. But I can't stop wondering what the other side has to say.
Oh, g-d, if only LEOs can be indemnified from willfully ignoring the stupid!
