The best pocket gun going is a J frame Airweight like the model 442/642/438/638 with 'hammerless' or shrouded hammers.
These are easy to bring into action because of their shape, they are much more reliable and likely to work when needed and fire a round similar to 9mm with the option of heavier bullets.
I own small 9mms, a BG380 pistol, Bond .357mag along with several other pocket guns, but the J frame .38sp is the way to go.
