Seriously -- how much has math changed in 14 years?

I recall using some ratty textbooks as a kid -- but they were all readable.

When in college, I bought a Calculus book that was 6 years old... The new edition came out; it had two colors instead of one.

Guess what... I aced Calculus. With an older book.

The textbooks in relevant coursework sit on my bookshelf at work. They are now easily 20 years old. They still work just fine, and I've never even replaced the batteries.
