No argument about the Ruger MKIII's. They are amongst the best .22lr pistols.

I think the OP is going after a .22lr pistol that mimics the slide action of a center-fire semi-auto. In that case, the M&P 22 is the best choice. Mine isn't ammo sensitive. I stopped counting rounds after the 4th problem free brick of Federal bulk.
