Thanks everyone for your comments. I will carry around 4 or 5 o'clock inside the waistband with a very minimalist type holster. I have a horsehide beltman belt that will fully support a full sized 1911, so I'm fairly confident that whatever I choose, I'll be able to carry just fine. I'm 6', 200 lbs, so I don't think the size of the gun will be too much of an issue.

Just so many choices!

For those of you that have owned many 1911s and shot them all, what would you consider to be a very reliable model?
