Apologies for the late response:
The rear sight notch is open, unobstructed by the RMR.
If you have a consistent draw-punchout, and focus on your target... the dot just appears. It doesnt matter if the dot is centered, or co-witnessed. Where the dot is on the glass, the bullet goes. I do not see the iron sights when utilizing the RDS.
