As was said above...
A standard 9mm has a muzzle energy of about 300 to 350 Ft. Lbs.
A standard .40S&W or .45ACP has a muzzle energy of about 400 to 450 Ft. Lbs.
A standard "Full Power" 10mm has a muzzle energy of about 550 to 650 Ft. Lbs. but the real reason is that at the 100 yard mark the 10mm still delivers around 500 Ft. Lbs. of energy. Even better is "Nuclear Power" or "Hot" 10mm loads have any where from 700 to as much as 850 Ft. Lbs. of energy at the muzzle. Couple that power with a Glock 20 in 10mm and you have a service sized side arm loaded with 15 rounds or 17 rounds in the magazine. It is hard to beat.
