Home/Self Defense - Speer Gold Dot, Remington Golden Saber, Cor-Bon (generally the lightest bullet in the caliber and bullet design - my personal choice is the Remington 165 gr. GS) If you want to know the pros/cons, history and development of different designs pick up the book "Street Stoppers". With that said, there are no "magic bullets", good shot placement is the most important factor in handgun defense effectiveness.

Range Time - Your own reloads, UMC, Winchester White box

Accuracy - Generally, any of the above will be as accurate as you are unless you are at longer ranges and are a pretty good shooter - beyond these limitations, you may need to experiment a little.
