2nd OIS in 2 days...WTF

This one started as a prowler call....foot chase, uneffective use of taser, taser lost to bg who stunned one officer and was shot when he tried to stun the other.

You? at your agency? in your town?

What's the scope?

Glad the good guys are okay (other than another Tasering).

Well, the current moon is in waxing crescent, and there are approximately 12 days, 10 hours and 40 minutes before the next full moon, so that can't be it...

Just glad the good guys won out again.

Not my agency, but the city PD where I live. Mobile, AL PD.

al.com had the article but for some reason I can't find the link. I will try again later.

Well, obviously the taser wasn't broken, because the bad guy used it against a cop, so I'm going to put my money on something in his system that caused him to not feel the effects.

It does not take much to make the Taser not work as we wish it would. My money is at "only one effective dart." I had a VERY sucessful Tasering, which ultimately saved the BGs life, since lethal force may have been the next step. In my story, the BG was sitting behind the wheel of my police car, not moving a great deal at that time. I was able to get the top dart into the upper shoulder and the bottom into his side.

The Taser does not work if the dart placement is not good.

I can't open the link for some reason, but unless this was an X2, I assume that the officer got stun driven?

Was you letting him take your car for a spin? :). Had to say it sorry.
