Just curious, but what is the reasoning behind carrying all this? Is it carried at all times or just range trips?

GVFlyer 05-13-2013 10:42

This is what's in the glove box on my Bimmer. That's it.

I learned a long time ago, a gun that is home in the safe when you need it, is totally useless.

Dude, zombies and commies = serious business.

I'm getting a .50 bmg mounted onto my vette for the weekends. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

dougader 05-13-2013 10:48

IMO, this is a "I have to get home (or wherever) to get my wife" trunk.

BSA: Be prepared!

I use one of these as my "truck gun" too. Surprisingly handy little rifles and affordable too (as compared to an AR).

PS. Did you know you can fit a standard GI 30 round mag where the two stock plastic mags are? It slides in horizontal and snaps in place.

paulbow 05-13-2013 10:52

I used to carry a get home bag in my trunk but I took it out for some reason. This is a good reminder to go through it and put it back.

I didn't have a gun in my bag due to theft concerns.

Nevermind....

The OP doesn't leave the AK in the trunk.

I therefore am supportive, if even a bit jelous.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out today.:)

The Kel Tec plastic mags were crap. They wouldn't stay in the gun and the rounds would pop out of the mag. I threw them away.

Overall it's a good gun for the money.

Ian Moone 05-13-2013 10:59

I pity the fool that messes with you DW.

A couple spare mags for your carry gun and a first aid kit in your glovebox is prepping as far as cars go. I don't have as much stuff in the trunk of my patrol vehicle as you have, and I might actually need some of the stuff I have one day.

What you've got in your trunk is flat out excessive and unnecessary, even by GT standards and that **** is OUT THERE.

Delmonte67 05-13-2013 11:01

I understand being prepared, but aren't you a little concerned in our current political environment that if an officer should check your trunk, or you have a car accident- it might look um......suspicious? If you MUST carry gear, how about a simple "rucksack" any vet here would agree. Just sayin.
Also I would NOT post my license plates in a public forum- I would seriously remove the pic or blur the plate out! And all those decals on the back window are just SCREAMING= There might be a gun inside my car- come see! Or someone decides to follow you home one day for a future robbery. Not good to advertise -ever! Always carry- never tell.;)

And then the MSM finds out some "gun nut" from Floriduh left all that **** in his trunk to get stolen?

Jesus H. Christo...might as well repeal the 2A now.

AK not left in car, so they'd only get the other "stuff."

PBCounty 05-13-2013 11:02

I've got a J-frame in the glove compartment.

Same here. Good gun, but the mags it came with were useless. I think they intended it to be used with GI mags (especially the storage area in the stock) and just threw together some cheap mags to put in the box for retail sale.

geofri 05-13-2013 11:04

What sort of firearms do you like?

FL Airedale 05-13-2013 11:04

Thanks for posting that pic of your car. If I'm out holding up convenience stores, I know not to try at the one with that car in the parking lot.
