Obscure TV Shows You Are Embarrassed To Admit You Enjoyed
I'll get the ball rolling: Father Dowling Mysteries. That is the one where Tom Bosley ( Father from Happy Days) was a priest who solved mysteries. I am also a bit ashamed to admit that I thought his nun assistant was mildly hot. :whistling: Eric |
I was addicted to Alien Nation. HH

They finally translated the text at the end of the show, as the demon materialized. The demon was indeed fierce looking, but it was only about three inches high. Turns out, the text translated as, "Shown Actual Size." Someone simply stepped on the demon and squashed it. Eric |

About 25 years ago there was a short-lived "summer replacement" show that went about 5 episodes and it was hilarious. It starred Brian Keith as a crotchety old man that had to move back in with his kids and grandkids.
I will never forget one scene when they are all discussing the TV news report about a gung shooting with "X" number of rounds fired and one person hurt. Keith's character is talking to his son and says, "I got the solution for this gang problem, handgrenades" "Dad, they can't give the cops handgrenades" "Who's talking about the cops? Give 'em to the gangs, they can't kill each other worth a darn with guns" |

I've been watching The Carrie Diaries.
So...... Somebody please shoot me. |
Obscure, the Highwayman I think was the title, his semi cab turned into a helicopter. I was 13 or 14 and thought it was pretty cool. Also discovered reruns of Buck Rogers around 12, remember the first run, but on the reruns I discovered the wonders of Erin Gray.

LoL I was going to say Silver Spoons, but with the excuse that I only watched it because of Erin Gray. |
I am truly ashamed to admit that I watched the entire Judging Amy series in syndication, on TNT. They are my go-to noise station, while I work.
One episode really cracked my up. Tyne Daley (Cagney & Lacey) played Amy's mother. One episode started with here going out to her Ford Taurus, in the supermarket parking lot. When she GT to it, she found four young black guys getting into it. She stuck her hand in her jacket pocket, pretended to have a gun and chased the four guys away. She got into the car and about the time she came to the realization that her ignition key wouldn't fit into the ignition, a police car pulled up behind her. It turned out that the car looked just like her car and she had just carjacked four guys at 'gun-point'. Eric |

Remember Hardcastle and McCormick? It was the one with the Family Affair dad and that Coyote kit car. It actually wasn't that bad. There was a slew of lukewarm cop/detective shows built around distinctive cars back then.
What was the private eye drama based in Houston, where the guy drove that cream colored Cord 810 convertible replica? It was in the early eighties. Eric |
