That's not enough rounds for a limited hunting season for a couple of guys here.

Maybe they were smuggling cars......The rounds were a diversion.

High powered rifle. Must have been one of those black ones with the assault ammunition.

Or one of those SBR kits with a Glock 20.

Why are we using our limited LE resources on such a small crime that doesn't effect us? I see safety and security issues along our borders that warrant officers time far more than illegal export of a small amount of small arms ammo. JMO

Good call. I bet the wiring in the cars was weapons grade uranium, but now that the ammo is gone, the cars will be transported and auctioned at the destination.

To the media, high powered rifle and shotgun ammunition is probably just 22LR.

Well, it says "high velocity" right on the package, doesn't it?

And 22 is a big number. We're talking well into double-digits.
