The first reading of a new firearms regulation bill has taken place.

What do you think of this proposal?

Convert AL from "may issue" to "shall issue" for concealed carry permits.

Clarifies that open carry is not "disorderly conduct" if somebody chooses to OC.

Repeal ban on possessing a firearm at a public demonstration.

Prevents specific counties and municipalities from enacting their own firearms laws (I'm looking at you, Chicago and NYC).

I like it! Glad to have Beason as my Senator.

The Alabama Sheriff's Association is opposing this again. Seems like they want to hold on to any bit of power they can.
