New G30 Gen4 yesterday
I was all hot to get the G30S (G30 Recon ) but after reading several who have shot all versions of the G30 state they thought the G30S had a bit more recoil and a bit less accuracy, I decided to go G30 Gen4...I haven't had it to the range yet...

^^^^ THIS ^^^^ is my next purchase as well.
I'm on the lookout locally YOU lucky guy |
I have to say that it may totally replace my G23...I've never been totally happy with the positioning of the finger grooves but hesitated to modify an OD Green frame...
I wasn't in love with the original chambering either but at the time I had no GLOCKs and picked it up...later bought a conversion barrel for 9mm and found that made the package better...still later, I picked up a GLOCK 357 SiG barrel and thought this was a fine balance of payload and cartridge but my favorite has always been .45ACP... I passed a long time ago on an original G30 finding the grip a touch too big...but I like my G21 and after carrying this for a couple days...I'm really liking it...and that grip feels just about perfect for a concealed carry pistol with now crowding of the fingers for me... Thanks, Bill |

I want one!
(but possibly a 30sf instead) |
Soldiernurse...they should be the same size but I feel (as do others) that the newer grip pattern makes the grip feel a bit smaller...I would agree that is so between the G21SF and the G21 Gen4...I don't have both of the G30s (G30SF and G30 Gen4) to compare them in person but did have a G21SF and now own the G21 Gen4...

Yeah, I wish Glock wasn't so far behind in production. I'd like to look at the large frame Gen 3 & 4 side by side myself.. The Gen 4 G31 is sweet; I want to try out a new G30.

Congrats!
Mine was test fired on 02/12/13 Yet to take it for a range date http://i415.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps405621f4.jpg |

Guys,
If you know a gun store that has one of it in stock then please be kindful to leave the store's phone # or website to that dealer. I would like to have it soon as possible. Thanks |

Yet, Ive used this wait time to buy a few accessories; TFO sites, TLR1s Lite, Raven Phantom OWB LC holster, and .45ACP ammo (local Class III Gun Store, walk-in ammo buys only). ... my 2 cents |
cant speak to the Gen4, but I have been in love with my Gen3 G30 from the day I got it. Compact, easily carryable all day, 11 rounds on board. Have yet to have one round not go boom in at least 500 rounds. Add some night sights and shoot the hell out of it. Congrats!

good info guys...thanks

Just had to look at the pics again.....

mine shot like a dream...well, like a GLOCK at least......plenty accurate and my only "issue" was so minor but the pistol did start to squirm a bit as I was shooting...just an adjustment for me I'm sure but I thought I'd mention it...very pleased with this purchase...

I've had mine for about 3 weeks now, and have put between 3-400 rounds thru it. Yesterday at the range, twice (not the same mag) on about the 7th round, it failed to go fully into battery. Both times I just gave the slide a nudge from behing and it closed and I was then able to fire it. I saw a You Tube video where a guy experienced the same type of failure.
Is this something that other G30 owners have had happen? The first time was with WWB, the second time was with Blazer aluminum, both 230 gr. I sold my EDC Colt Commander so that all of my carry guns would be Glock, so this is a little worrisome to me. If others have experienced it, I'd like to hear what you thought the reason is or what factor may have caused it. |
Curious
My new G30 Gen4 (blue label) with a BOD of 3/7/13, arrived at my LGS (Ft Walton Beach) 3/13/13 and I picked it up 3/14/13. serial UFVxxx. It has a 4256-1 trigger bar, 8196-2 ejector and a dipped extractor. What combination of parts is everyone else getting?

I've noticed something that I think might be contributing to the problem. When I pull the slide SLOWLY to the rear, it feels like it is dragging on something. This is after the initial part where the trigger resets, the rest of the way it feels like it is grating or dragging, or not sliding smoothly. I got out my 19 and 26 to compare it to, and I was correct. Once you get past the first part where the trigger reset takes place, the 19 and the 26 feel glass smooth - no dragging. But its definitely there on the 30. Both of my 9 mm's have had hundreds to thousands of rounds put thru them over the years, so maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges. Those of you with a G30 - pull your slide back slowly and see if you feel any drag.
Is this something that I should have a gunsmith or a GLock Armorer check out? Send it back to Glock? Ideas or suggestions? THanks, John |

I experienced the same identical problem on my G4-30. I called Glock in Smyrna Ga and they are sending me a new recoil spring at no charge. If that does not fix it I will be paying their customer service Dept a visit.
Hope you get yours working to your satisfaction. Ray |
I experienced the identical same thing on my G4 - 30 purchased about 3-11-13. I called Glock customer service and spoke with customer service. They are sending me a new recoil spring at no charge. If that does not fix it I will be taking the weapon in to them for repair.
I hope you get yours working to your satisfaction. Ray |
Wow - so many people with the same problem! The recoil spring - i will be calling Glock Customer Service tomorrow and see if I can get one as well. Has anybody received theirs yet and did it fix the problem?

Thanks GT... G4G30 is now mine!
The wait lasted just shy of 6 weeks. GT R&R'd the factory sites w/TruGlo TFOs. Planning on a range visit the end of this week. Hope the results will be just as favorable as were silversport's.
