Glock g26 or g27?
 

I did own both of these, and liked both. But now I wish I never sold them. I want to buy either a 26 or 27. What is your choice and why?

G26. The recoil is easier to manage and you get one extra round.

Only thing matters is which one do you shoot best. Everybody's different.

G27. The recoil is very easy to manage and you won't need the extra round to get the job done. :tongueout:

This ☝☝☝ and you can change barrels and shoot 3 different calibers out of the same Glock.

G27. I have both. G27 shoots better, the round is better. You can add a +1 factory bottom and have 10 rounds.

What is involved with changing barrels? Are there any other parts needed?

I went with the 27 because I know I'll get used to how it shoots, I want the extra stopping power, and I like the convertibility option of it, should I ever want to do it. Maximum bang for the buck, literally, and "bang" is why I have a handgun in the first place (this will be a CC gun). Good luck -- let us know what you do!

The Glock 26 gets my vote.

To change it over to a .357sig its just a barrel change, you can use your G27 mags. To change it over to a 9mm, you need to change barrel and mag. Some will say you need to change the extractor and ejector. I never did change them over to 9mm ones. I've never had the first hiccup with over 7000 round shot out of it.

26 gets my vote also. I carried a 27 for years and loved it..that is until I fired the 26. With a Glock PLUS extension you have a place to rest your pinky and 13 rounds of 9mm at your disposal. That being said I replaced the 27 with a 36 and the 26 rides with my wife.

The Glock 26 as I think it is the perfect carry gun.

For me it was a matter of recoil. I have a Glock 22 and I now have a conversion barrel for it. Now about 99% of the time shoot 9mm. So I just bought the 26. I have pearce extensions for 12+ 1 and have a spare glock 17 magazine with a + 2. That is what I currently carry most days.

Either one are good choices. Me, I have a G27 and a 40/9 conversion barrel. I plan to add a .357 sig barrel in the future. Perfect tri-fecta in a very easy to carry package package.

Ur kiddin right? Hate o rag, but the questions are getting goofier & goofier around here. Get to reading this AM, first guy ask about which glock for aliens, read on guy has had both 26, 27, then wants to know which he should get, sob, u had both why don't u tell us!

For me, it'd be the G26, because I've more-or-less standardized my ammo inventory around the 9mm. Can't go wrong either way.

G26, because I want one.

The question isn't really "G26 or G27" it's more of 9mm or .40 S&W. with that being said, I would go with the 27 and one of the big deciding factors is, you can have 3 different calibers in 1 gun. As stated above you can go 9mm with the change of a barrel and a mag(s). (With the way magazines are priced now might not be your cup of tea) or you can run .357 with just the change of the barrel.

If this gun is gonna be for self defense CCW or anything like that. I would recommend getting the gun you're most comfortable with. Don't get the 27 just cause u can have 3 calibers in 1 gun. But if you do only use it in .40 if you are carrying. Never use a conversion while CCW. But either way you go you will LOVE it.

I prefer the G27, pretty much for all the same reasons mentioned above.

i was given both as retirement presents by my shift when i retired. now that i am older and issues from agent orange have entered my life i traded my 27 to another officer and bought another 26. they are esier for me to handle longer. neuropthy is a bear adn i find the 26 works for me. usually carry it or the 19 all the time and during the hold up sseason well often have both with me. the 26 with a glock extension hides very well and i shoot it very good. however both ae great,especially if you are a young person and cn handle it

I really like my new G26. That being said, with the 9mm ammo shortage, I find myself wishing I had purchased a 27.
Ah well, gives me an excuse to buy another Glock, if nothing else.

The 27's recoil is too much for me. It takes me quite a while longer to get back on target with it, as compared to a 26. It was the main reason to stick with 9mm.

Recoil is subjective, but I'm almost positive that many people don't give target reacquisition a second thought.

I can shoot a 27 at paper all day long when taking my time, but for speedy following up shots, the 26 wins.

But, the question is not what WE want.

It's "What do you need?"

Self defense? Range? Plinking? Competition? Adrenaline rush?

Different calibers and frames for different purposes!
