Cops shot a motorist who struck a police officer with a car trying to conduct a traffic stop on Tremont Avenue, the NYPD said Wednesday. Two officers assigned to the Bronx Gang Unit pulled the Honda over near Grand Avenue Tuesday about 5 p.m., but as they walked toward the vehicle, the 31-year-old man rammed it into one of them and sped off, police said. The officer who was hit sustained a minor leg injury, police said. The other cop, who wasn't hit, fired a single shot that struck the fleeing driver's leg, police said.
