Formula 1 Race Austin, Helo
 

I had a good time today. Had to go to the pilot and helo ops meeting for the Formula 1 Race here in Austin.
There will be a total of 35 helos. The people I work for will have 21. The cool thing is they brought in Henry Aviation that do all the NASCAR races and they are the ones doing the ATC at the track. Anyway here is a few that came in today:

Cool. I hope the Austin race has a brighter future then the F1 race did at IMS. I regret not getting down to Indy to watch the screamers when they were in town.

35 birds in one area? cool!

i recall looking out the back window of my ambulance once, and getting a little excited to see three rescue helicopters parked in a line on the turnpike. i think it was ShandsCair, AirCare, and Bayflite. wish i woulda gotten a pic of that, but i was a little busy.

The ONLY way to get into a crowded race area.

I certainly hope they're careful and cautious, don't want them crashing into each other like those two news choppers did a few years ago in Phoenix.

It'll be like Saigon in 74. :tongueout: That's pretty much what it is around Vegas, all the time.
