No I have had both versions the second link is a collectible and A very good boot knife at the price.i currently use a scrap yard booty...

The AG Russell Sting by CRKT. Cheap, durable. Can be had for ~$35.

I have one of these and for the price would give it a definite thumbs up. You may have to do a bit of fiddling with the sheath to get it the way you want, but the knife itself is great.

+1 to the Gerber Guardian (current model)

Once a quality knife, now Chinese made.
Current plastic sheath rattles terribly.
The grips are slick and very small in diameter and not that great for bigger hands.

I have a Cold Steel Peakeeper II, Cold Steel Kobun, a Cold Steel single edge push knife(cannot remember the name), and a Spyderco Merlin with metal clip. All have served me as a Boot Knife at one time or another and all worked fine. The one lock blade (Spyderco) was carried the most. Now it rides in my Second Chance Vest (kangaroo pouch)

Well crap, guess I won't be replacing mine after all.

Cold Steel boot knife, holds a good edge and comes with a good scabard. If you want on, can make you a deal on a used one I packed for 5 years.
